West Ranch High has added lacrosse as a sport, becoming the first school in the William S. Hart Union High School District to field the sport.
It will begin play in February 2013.
The Wildcats will have a varsity and junior varsity team.
“Lacrosse is the first new sport added to the extensive list of athletic programs since boys volleyball was added in 1988 and we are excited to have West Ranch High School be the first school with this new program,” said West Ranch Principal Bob Vincent in a statement.
The Signal will have more details later today.
