Say no to government impediments

I was there when President Reagan told the air-traffic controllers to go back to work and they refused. Wasn't it illegal for them to strike?

Carole Lutness defines our environment as being wrecked with global warming. What wreck? The world benefits from a little warming.

Not so with global cooling. The last decade or so the earth has experienced more cooling than warming.

Contrary to those alarmist claims that we are experiencing the warmest period in modern times, the 1930s were hotter.

Russian scientists scoff at global warming. They believe it's going to get colder before it warms again.

Instead of spending billions to counter the theory of warming, let's address a proven ongoing disaster. Malaria.

Rachel Carson's "Silent Spring" condemned DDT. Millions have been stricken with the disease. We know DDT is an effective weapon to use against malaria.

Using it properly kills the mosquito that spreads it, without endangering the environment.

What's this "class" malarkey? The percentage of poor people declined since Jimmy Carter was president. The middle class as a whole hasn't suffered; most have become more wealthy, not less.

We don't need larger government. What made this country desirable to immigrants is an opportunity to achieve their dreams.

Social Security is doomed if we stay on the same course. Remember the "Social Security Lockbox"? It doesn't exist. FICA funds go into the general fund, where politicians spend it.

Ways to slow Social Security's demise include really having a lockbox, denying benefits to those who haven't paid into it and taking elected representatives' pensions away and putting them on Social Security with the rest of us.
