LOS ANGELES (AP) — A jury has convicted a gang member of a series of armed robberies around Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley.

The LA County District Attorney's office says 19-year-old David Cesar Santos was found guilty Friday on all charges, including assault on a peace officer, six counts of second-degree robbery and one count of attempted second-degree robbery.

A co-defendant, 23-year-old Christopher Rosalio Morales, pleaded no contest before the trial to seven counts of second-degree robbery and other charges.

Both were arrested last June after two Glendale police detectives conducting surveillance witnessed an armed robbery. Santos was wounded when police opened fire after he rammed his vehicle into a detective's car.

Santos and Morales are scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 2. Each faces 45 years in state prison.
