An Agua Dulce man convicted Monday of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated in the death of his neighbor returned to court Thursday to hear arrangements for his re-trial on the charge of murder, court officials said.

A jury also found 65-year-old Dennis Keene guilty of causing injury while driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a blood alcohol level exceeding the legal limit causing injury, as well as gross vehicular manslaughter, in Lancaster Superior Court on Monday.

The six men and six women on the jury, however, could not reach a verdict on the fourth charge of murder.

In February, Keene was charged with murder and drunken driving in the August 2011 crash that killed his neighbor Lori Lindlief, 55, while she was walking her dogs on an Agua Dulce street.

Keene was ordered Thursday to return to court Oct. 25 for a pre-trial hearing on the murder charge.
