A 21-year-old Valencia man arrested last month on suspicion of threatening to murder children entered a plea of not guilty in San Fernando Superior Court today.

Eric Ting Yee, a Valencia High School graduate whose arrest made national news in September, returned to court today after having posted enough money to be released from custody shortly after his arrest.

He entered his plea to one count of possessing an illegal weapon.

Yee was ordered to appear back in court next month for a preliminary hearing.

He was arrested Sept. 17 for allegedly posting comments in an ESPN chat room saying he was watching kids and wouldn’t mind killing them.

The arrest was for allegedly making criminal threats, but the District Attorney’s office did not file such a charge against Yee.

A search of his parents’ home, which overlooks two Santa Clarita Valley schools, turned up several weapons, including an illegal H&K M-94 assault rifle.
