Brushfire potential remains "explosive" in the Santa Clarita Valley due to continued high winds, low humidity readings and warm temperatures, prompting the National Weather Service to keep its current Red Flag Warning hoisted through 6 p.m. tonight.

Northeast winds 18 mph to 30 mph will continue to blow through the SCV this morning before slowly diminishing, according to the service's latest update.

The service also predicts 10 percent to 20 percent humidity today, with a high daytime temperatrure of 80.

Local firefighters remain on alert until the service pulls down its Red Flag Warning.
