The Saugus Union School District will be holding a hearing Oct. 16 at district headquarters to deliver the verdict on Einstein Academy’s petition for an elementary-school charter, officials announced this week.

The Einstein Academy for Letters, Arts and Sciences in Valencia operates a seventh- through 11th-grade charter high school for the William S. Hart Union High School District.

Einstein Academy supporters have petitioned Saugus Union three times for a charter to open a kindergarten-to-sixth-grade school.

Einstein Academy earned a score of 910 on standardized test scores released today by the state Department of Education. Scores on the Academic Performance Index can range from 200 to 1,000.
