Local education supporters are bringing a bevy of stars to the SCV on Saturday to celebrate the launch of a group aimed to help the William S. Hart Union High School District, officials said.

“This is a remarkable opportunity because we’ve never seen this many celebrities in Santa Clarita on one stage,” said Amy Daniels, interim executive director for the WiSH Education Foundation.

Kyle Massey of “That’s So Raven” and “Cory in the House” and actress Cassie Scerbo of the “Bring It On” trilogy, as well as cast members from the shows “So You Think You Can Dance” and “Dancing With the Stars,” will take part in the event Saturday at the Hart High School auditorium, according to John Zaring of The Zaring Group, who has arranged for the stars to take part in the event.

Pre-sale tickets are $40 and available at that price until Friday, according to district officials. There are also VIP tickets available for $100, which includes access to a VIP after-party.

For those bringing children to the event, there is a children’s VIP room and activities for teens, as well.

The foundation, which was formed last August, is trying to make sure the Hart district’s 23,000 junior high and high school students remain as unaffected by state budget cuts as possible, Daniels said.

The group is dedicated to supporting academic and co-curricular programs, she added.

“We’re really trying to bridge the gap between what we used to get and what we currently get,” Daniels said.

While Daniels really wanted to support the district her children graduated from, she also mentioned the practical advantages to support local schools.

“Great schools are not just for families that have kids in the district,” Daniels said. “We all want to be able to sell our houses some day, and the quality of schools has a great impact on the real estate market.”

“Nobody wants to live in a community with a school that’s labeled a failing school; we’re used to top-quality schools here in Santa Clarita,” Daniels said, “and we want to keep it that way.”
