Fire fighters from stations 73 and 126 responded to a structure fire on the 23000 block of 8th Street in Newhall at approximately 7:37 p.m. on Wednesday night, and put out the blaze that engulfed a garage housing at least two vintage vehicles, according to Los Angeles County fire officials.

The cause of the fire is unknown, but a cause investigator was en route to the scene as of 9:20 p.m. Wednesday, according to Capt. Marshall Oldham of Fire Station 126.

“We don’t think it was arson or anything,” Oldham said. “We have a couple of theories, but we don’t want to say what they are.” The cause investigator “comes out to determine cause when we don’t think it’s arson.”

Two vintage vehicles, described as “Model A type vehicles,” by Oldham, were visible inside the garage, with a third vintage car outside of the garage.

“We don’t have a value,” Oldham said of the damage, but it’s “well into the $100,000s.”

According to Lt. John Rush of the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station, the fire was contained in the garage and put out quickly.

No injuries were reported.
