Deputies temporarily close train station to inspect suitcase

Santa Clarita Valley sheriff’s deputies shut down the Newhall Metrolink Station for several minutes to inspect a suitcase that was left for a few hours on Thursday.

The Sheriff’s Station’s arson team inspected the suitcase and found only clothing, said Lt. Bill Weiss of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

The surrounding streets were temporarily shut down while the inspection was made.
