A 27-year-old felon on probation was booked today on weapons and drug charges after local sheriff’s deputies went to his Saugus home on a probation check, a sheriff’s spokesman said.

On Thursday morning, deputies of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station went to a home on Plum Canyon Road to check on the status of a man on probation, Lt. Mark Hershey said.

“They found him in possession of heroin and a loaded firearm,” Hershey said.

Christian Aparicio is charged with possession of heroin and with being a felon with a gun.

He is scheduled to appear in San Fernando Superior Court next week.
