A brush fire near Lake Elizabeth that burned at least three acres Wednesday was extinguished in an hour following swift response from emergency crews, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.

At 10:37 a.m., Fire Department officials received word of a fire burning near the area of Bouquet Canyon Road and West Elizabeth Lake Road about five miles northeast of the Bouquet Reservoir, the spokesman said.

Ground and air response units, including helicopters, were dispatched to the area.

By 11:34 a.m., the fire was knocked down, the spokesman said.
