Roberto Celedon, the Canyon Country man who plead guilty to illegally butchering animals in his backyard, was ordered to pay $20,391.35 in restitution to the county during a court appearance on Friday.

Celedon began serving his 90-day jail sentence June 26, but the county Department of Animal Care & Control sought repayment for caring for the animals taken from his property when he was arrested.

He also will be on probation for five years, and is prohibited from possessing any animals for slaughter, operating a meat-producing facility, attending auctions where animals are sold or selling any meat products.
