Letter: A candidate’s promise

When a candidate makes a promise — and presents the contents of that promise to the source that can help him fulfill that promise — and is stymied by the obstructive opponents, it is hard to have that promise become a promise.

But at least that promise was presented as a promise in good faith.

Promises can only be fulfilled with the help of others. I quote:

“Promises are made to offer assurance, especially during election. Political tactic to offer promise that would guarantee a better future to lure voters. However, certain promises are made with few realistic supports to ever become existent.”

Can you imagine if some of President Barack Obama’s promises were addressed and half-fulfilled by the 2010 GOP and the teabaggers, the United States and the people of the United States would be better off than they were four years ago?

Things aren’t too bad. A little slow in the making, but things will get very much better with patience and perseverance.
