City officials will host a community meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center, 22900 Market Street in Newhall to provide residents with information about the pending landscaping project.

The project involves new landscaping, street furniture and a storm drain for Main Street as part of the ongoing downtown revitalization project that should begin in early 2009.

City staff will provide information on the bid and award process for the streetscape and storm drain project in downtown Newhall.

The community meeting is held to prepare business, property owners, neighboring residents and customers for the construction project.

"The community meeting is an opportunity for affected business owners, property owners and residents in the area to become informed about this great redevelopment project," said Santa Clarita Mayor Frank Ferry.
