It’s mid-September? Really? The countdown to the holidays will be upon us before we know it. For some, the High Holy Days are here with Rosh Hashana beginning to night at sundown and Yom Kippur arriving on Sept. 25.

Seen at  SCV WMOH

It was an elegant crowd at the SCV Women and Men of Honor event held at the Hyatt Regency Valencia on Sept. 8. It was also an elegant event. I loved the Coconut Grove theme. Among those seen at the event: Lena and Cameron Smyth, Margo and Bob Hudson, Shelley and G. Marshall Hann, Harold and Jacquie Petersen, Mike Lebecki, Rabbi Mark and Tracy Blazer, Don and Cheri Fleming, Adam Philipson, Dennis and Wendy Poore, Judy and Joel Cox, Chell and Greg Amsler, Dora Zavala, Dan Csicsai and Rick Foster, Marjanne Priest, Apo and Janet Yessayan , Jane Bettencourt-Soto, Don and Billie Hubbard, John and Debbie Heys, Valerie and Ed Masterson, Julie and Steve Sturgeon, Cathy Ritz, Darrell and Patty Paulk, Lois Bauccio, Pam and Steve Ingram, Allan and Rise Barbakow, Diane and Bob Benjamin, Annie and Robert Schwartz, Scott and Vanessa Wilk, Moe and Linda Hafizi, Joyce and Lee Schulman, Morris Thomas, Nikki and Art Simon, Brian and Samantha Berent, Sue Reynolds, Colleen Shaffer, Roger and Lina Seaver, Diana Vose and Ernest Guaderrama, Darlene and Robert Gandara, Marlee Lauffer and Laine Hedwell, Rose and Steve Chegwin, Kevin and Leslie Wessell, Sophie Wessell, Francine Alba.

Margo fashions on parade

It was fun to wear my lovely long gold gown that I received from Margo several years ago. Others came decked out in “Margo” fashions including Linda Pedersen, JoAnn Vindigni and Tippi Hedren.

Malia Dunn off to Hawaii

I was surprised to find out that my favorite bartender at the Hyatt, Malia Dunn is leaving the SCV at the end of the month for Hawaii. She has decided to hang up her cocktail shaker and move closer to her son. No one makes a Bloody Mary like Dunn. I shall miss her expertise! It just won’t be the same.
