The Santa Clarita City Council this week authorized replacing a paseo system pedestrian bridge at Carrizo Drive near Valencia Valley Elementary School.

The city has been replacing bridges along the paseo system for the past few years in response to a Los Angeles County bridge inspection report that recommended the bridges be replaced.

Construction should begin on the bridge by the end of the year, and the renovations will cost up to $461,999, according to details of the project’s bid process.

The nearby North Valley Homeowners Association and Valencia Valley Elementary School have been informed of the project, city officials said.
