Two men are expected in court today on charges related to beating an Agua Dulce woman, threatening to shoot her and then kidnapping her adult son Wednesday night.

The two suspects in the case were identified Thursday as Clyde Richards, 59, and Collin Foster, 23.

Deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station stopped a Nissan Pathfinder SUV that the two men were driving after being alerted to the car by Palmdale officials, who responded to the initial attack in Agua Dulce, said Lt. Bill Weiss of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

A Sheriff’s Department helicopter found the assault victim’s 23-year-old son hiding in a ravine about three-quarters of a mile from where deputies stopped the suspects’ vehicle, according to a police statement.

A “large amount” of marijuana was also found in the vehicle, but Sheriff’s Station detectives could not be reached to state the amount.

The son was not hurt in the incident. The extent of the woman’s injuries was not released, and the names of the victims were not released by sheriff’s officials.

The incident is being investigated by detectives with the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station.
