Deputies from the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station are investigating a kidnapping and assault in Agua Dulce during which a woman was beaten and her adult child kidnapped Wednesday.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies stopped the car after it fled south on Highway 14 at a high rate of speed.

Two suspects were in custody and the kidnap victim had been found, said Lt. Bill Weiss.

Sheriff’s reports indicated the victim’s house was entered by the kidnappers and the mother beaten.

“They tied her up, put her in the bathroom and kidnapped her son,” according to Deputy Mike Luter of the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station.

The woman was treated by medical officials at the scene of the crime, Luter said.

The assault and kidnapping occurred on the 30000 block of Briggs Road in Agua Dulce, according to Lt. Bill Weiss of the SCV Sheriff’s Station.

Efforts were coordinated with officials from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station to apprehend the suspects, who were fleeing on Highway 14.

“They were looking for a car and we made a stop and found the car at McBean Parkway, near Interstate 5,” Weiss said.

Sheriff’s deputies stopped the Nissan Pathfinder around 4 p.m. when the suspects were apprehended, according to Luter.

The woman’s son was found near where the SUV was pulled over, Luter said.

“It sounds like everyone’s been detained and everyone’s been located.”
