Seferino Benjamin Grajeda

A Santa Clarita Superior Court judge issued a $1.5 million warrant for the arrest of Seferino Benjamin Grajeda, 30, of Pacoima, who is wanted in connection with a New Year's Day shooting in Canyon Country, said Sgt. Darren Harris of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station.

Shortly before 5 a.m. Thursday, Grajeda was arguing with his girlfriend when he allegedly shot Jose Campos, 47, of Canyon Country, at a home in the 18000 block of Grace Lane, a sheriff's deputy said.

Campos' daughter is Grajeda's girlfriend and the mother of the couple's three children.

"Grajeda pulled a gun out of his waistband and shot Campos once in the chest. He then fled the location in an unknown direction," sheriff's Sgt. Ron Price said.

Campos' daughter immediately drove her father (Jose) to Fire Station 107 in Canyon Country where he was treated and transported to Providence Holy Cross Hospital.

Information on his condition was not available, but the wound is not believed to be life threatening, Harris said.

No one else was injured during the incident, Harris said.

Grajeda is a male Hispanic whose last known address is in the 10000 block of Onida Street in Pacoima.

He is wanted on suspicion of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and felony possession of a firearm, Harris said.

Grajeda, who is alleged to be in possession of a semi-automatic gun and driving a newer model burgundy-colored Cadillac Escalade with paper license plates, is considered armed and dangerous, Harris said Friday.
If anyone sees Grajeda or the vehicle described above, they should not approach or confront him, deputies advised.

Witnesses or anyone with information can call 911 or the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station at
