The woman who died after being struck by a Metrolink train Wednesday was identified today as a 19-year-old woman from Saugus, a coroner’s spokesman said.

Cyrena Darlene Becerra, a graduate of Sylmar High School class of 2011, died Wednesday after she apparently stepped in front of a Metrolink train in the Centre Pointe area of Santa Clarita, investigators said.

She was identified by officials at the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Department, said department Lt. Fred Corral.

The Metrolink five-car commuter train was heading north on the Antelope Valley line shortly after 3 p.m. when it hit the woman on a section of track near Carl Boyer Drive and Golden Triangle Road.

According to her Facebook site, Becerra moved recently from San Fernando to Saugus.
