A man and a woman armed with a shotgun held up a Valencia home improvement store Wednesday and made off with about $1,000 in stolen hardware, local sheriff’s officials said.
The couple entered the Home Depot on Newhall Ranch Road about 5:15 p.m., revealed that they had a 12-gauge shotgun, stole some merchandise and fled, said Lt. Tom Bryski of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
The pair, both described as being in their late 20s, escaped west on Newhall Ranch in what appeared to be an Impala with no licence plates, he said.
No shots were fired and no reports were received by deputies of anyone being hurt, he added.
The man was described as wearing a black shirt and black hat and the woman was wearing a gray shirt.
“Apparently they took one of those battery kits (containing) battery-powered tools,” Bryski said.
