A work crew laboring in Newhall on Wednesday accidentally hit a gas line, but no one was injured and there were no explosions, a Southern California Gas Co. spokeswoman said.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene at Cross Street and Crosswinds Street about 3:30 p.m. on a report of a gas line rupture.

“It’s a very minor thing that happened and there are no outages and no injuries,” said Ann Silva, spokeswoman for the Gas Co. “Our crews are repairing it.”

No streets were closed, no one went without gas and there were no explosions or injuries, Silva said.
