The National Fastpitch Coaches Association released Tuesday its list of 10 student-athletes to earn 2012 Diamond Sports Catcher of the Year honors, and former Hart High catcher Jessica Shults was named the top catcher in NCAA Division I play.

Shults, who reached the Women’s College World Series with her University of Oklahoma team earlier this year, was a member of the United States’ women’s fastpitch team this summer.

As a junior, Shults hit .378 with 20 home runs and a .755 slugging percentage for Oklahoma this season.
