A woman was injured after her car plunged 40 feet down a ravine off Bouquet Canyon Road and into Bouquet Creek wash, fire officials said Wednesday.

Paramedics with the Los Angeles County Fire Department were dispatched to Bouquet Canyon Road near Espuella Drive around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday on a report of a white car going off the creek overpass, a department spokesman said.

Firefighters called in from Fire Stations 111 and 126 found a woman trapped inside a white compact car at the bottom of the concrete-lined dry creek bed, the spokesman said.

They worked to extricate the woman from the vehicle and then carried her on a stretcher up the embankment.

The injured woman, whose identity was not disclosed, was taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital.

Deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station were investigating the single-vehicle crash. The nature of the victim’s injuries was not disclosed.
