Moonlight at the Ranch VI: Creatures of the Night, a  fundraiser to support the Santa Paula Police & Fire Foundation and Chamber of Commerce will be held 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22. Honorary Co-Chairs: Bela Lugosi (Count Dracula) and Boris Karloff (Frankenstein) represented by special guests: Bela Lugosi Jr. and Sara Karloff. The costume-friendly event will be held at historic Limoneira Ranch on Cummings Road, in Santa Paula. More than 40 regional restaurants will offer tastings, dancing and entertainment. Saturday, Oct. 6

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department hosts its annual Fun in the Sun Chili Cook-off with games, food and live music 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at Jack Bones Equestrian Center, 26983 Tapia Canyon Road, Castaic. Sunday, Oct. 21

“Sip, Stroll and Savor the Sounds” at the Soroptimist International of Greater Santa Clarita Valley’s fifth annual The Wine Affair. The event will be held 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, at Westfield Valencia Town Center. Tickets are $50 in advance; $60 one week prior to the event. Men of Harmony Chorus seeks voices

The SCV Men of Harmony Chorus meets 7:30-9:45 p.m. every Tuesday, Valley Oaks Village Apartments, 24700 Valley St.  Santa Clarita. The group’s specialty is singing in four-part harmony without musical accompaniment, also known as a cappella singing. All singing men in any voice range are welcome.  The 15-man group entertains for local organizations and enjoys vocalizing on a regular basis. Domestic Violence Center counseling

Summer beach bus from Santa Clarita

Santa Clarita Transit is offering affordable weekend bus rides to Santa Monica Beach now through Sunday, Sept. 2. Heads Up volunteer training classes

Heads Up Therapy with Horses, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, is accepting candidates for its free volunteer orientation and training classes. Minimum age required is 14; those 14-17 need a parent’s signed approval to join the program. Graduates receive certificate and proceed to extended hands-on training. Carousel Ranch calls for volunteers

Carousel Ranch is a nonprofit organization that provides therapeutic riding lessons to children with special needs. Volunteers must be at least 15. Responsibilities will include working in lessons and ranch chores. Pine Mountain Club Fall Festival

The 37th annual Pine Mountain Club Fall Festival will be held Sunday, Sept. 2. Entertainment and  family-friendly activities, arts and crafts vendors, food and drink, and games for all ages.  The Arts & Crafts Faire starts at 9 a.m. Cake walks, raffle prizes, log-sawing and nail-driving contests, all set in a picturesque mountain community. Hart High School

Cheer Spirit Day

 The award winning Hart High School Cheerleaders will host their annual Spirit Day event 10:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8 at Hart High School 24825 N. Newhall Ave., Newhall, in the large gym. Treat your aspiring cheerleader ages 5-12 to a day of learning the fundamentals of cheerleading.
