During the Vietnam War, he advocated for the draft in counterprotests for the war. He never put his body in harm’s way, though. Instead, he got deferments and spent the war in France.
There’s a special word for a man who advocates for other men to fight a war, but is not willing to fight himself. And that word is not “president.”
