COMPTON (AP) — A Southern California school bus driver on a new route got lost for hours with more than a dozen special needs kids.
The Los Angeles Times (lat.ms/14FEH) says parents called the Compton school police when their Bursch Elementary School children were not dropped off at the regular time Tuesday afternoon.
The school contacted the bus company and the bus and driver were found. Additional drivers were dispatched to the location of the bus to help take the children home.
The Compton Unified School District says the bus driver has worked for the company for three years but it was her first day on that particular route.
