Letter: What happened to the Older Americans Act?

In response to Mr. Berens’ column of Aug. 22, “Senior center not failing”:

The reckless spending of the city, county and the state have led the people who have supported them by paying taxes for 40-50 years or more down a path of disaster.

They are spending money on everything to make them and the city look good, but cannot support the ones that have paid for it.

What happened to the Older Americans Act? I guess now it is to support the non-American act. Old people are being turned away at the Senior Center and caregivers have to bring their own lunch. Think about it.

How about all the streets in Newhall that do not have sidewalks, like Cross Street and Orchard Village Road?
