A man was taken by ambulance to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries Sunday afternoon following a two-car collision in Valencia.

Shortly after 2 p.m., a red 4-door Toyota Camry and a gray 2-door Honda Accord collided at the intersection of Newhall Ranch Road and Copper Hill Drive.

“One car ran a red light, and they collided,” said a deputy of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at the crash scene.

One man, an occupant of the Toyota, suffered injuries not considered life-threatening, officials at the scene said.

Paramedics with the Los Angeles County Fire Department fitted the injured man with a neck brace, placed him on a spinal board then a stretcher.

A woman who was also in the Toyota appeared shaken but did not appear to suffer any noticeable injury.

She went to hospital with the injured man.

The driver of the Honda appeared to be uninjured.

“We know the air bag works,” he said, standing by his car which sustained front end damage.

“I felt the seatbelt stop me, then the air bag.”
