Identity released for man who shot himself on freeway bridge

Authorities today released the identity of a man who apparently committed suicide Thursday after he shot himself in the head on the tallest bridge of the Interstate 5-Highway 14 interchange.

Ronald Stillwell, 78, of Valencia, drove a white sedan onto the transition road from the southbound I-5 to northbound Highway 14 and shot himself in front of passing motorists, according to officials.

Officials from the coroner’s office have not yet released the official cause of death.
