LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) — Police say a Southern California medical marijuana dispensary is simply a front for a drug dealer living large.
Long Beach police have arrested 44-year-old Jon Storms for possession of marijuana and marijuana for sale.
This week's arrest culminated an 18-month investigation and came a day after police served warrants at nine locations. More than $800,000 was seized at the Storms home.
According to news reports, Storms was denied a medical marijuana permit two years ago, but he continued to operate Long Beach Quality Discount Caregivers.
Police say Storms was taking in $2 million a year.
Investigators say Storms owns a Colorado River vacation home in Needles and properties in Mira Loma, Corona and Signal Hill.
He also owns tanning salons, a bikini shop a limousine firm and a restaurant.
