No matter what channel you turn to or what website you go to, you hear about the current election. Yet what you usually hear is name-calling, party bashing or just plain slander.

This problem, however, isn’t just found in the national election. It is found everywhere in the nation. All we hear about is how Democrats did this or how Republicans did that.

There is no debate anymore — it’s all just party blaming.

We as Americans need to stop our current love affair with our party. We shouldn’t hate people based on their party affiliation, and we shouldn’t blame the party, either.

This problem doesn’t get fixed by the national media; it gets fixed locally by people like us.

We need to stop these attacks on political party members by stopping ourselves from doing it. Only then can we get back to reasonable debates and get our country back on track.
