A man who apparently suffered medical problems due to heat exposure Monday afternoon near Gorman was airlifted to a hospital, fire officials reported.

Shortly after 4;15 p.m., paramedics with the Los Angeles County Fire Department received a report for a man in “medical distress” near Quail Lake north of Castaic, said Inspector Tony Inbrenda.

“It seems there was an exposure issue,” he said.

Temperatures reached at least 88 degrees in Gorman on Monday, according to the National Weather Service.
Paramedics aboard a rescue helicopter took the man to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital.

The man was reported to be in stable condition when he arrived at the hospital about 5:20 p.m. His name was not released.
