PALMDALE (AP) — A man who fell into a well in Palmdale and was trapped there for more than 24 hours has been rescued and is recovering.
Authorities say the man was pulled out of the well about 9 p.m. Saturday after rescue crews broke up concrete around the well's narrow mouth.
The man, who was able to walk on his own after the rescue, was taken to a hospital for evaluation. None of his injuries were life-threatening.
The man fell into the opening about 6 feet below ground after dropping something in the well and tried to get it out. Horseback riders heard his cries for help and notified authorities.
