Two injured in lake incidents

Two men involved in separate unrelated incidents were taken to by ambulance from area lakes Sunday afternoon, a fire official said.

About 3:45 p.m., paramedics with the Los Angeles County Fire Department were called to Pyramid Lake’s front gate for a man complaining of rib injuries, said department Supervisor Bernard Peters.

Initially, Parks Bureau deputies of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department requested the man be taken by helicopter to hospital.

The request was downgraded once paramedics had a chance to examine the victim, reportedly suffering from “minor injuries.”

The man was taken instead by ambulance to hospital, Peters said.

In a separate unrelated incident that also involved Parks Bureau deputies, a man was taken by ambulance from Castaic Lake, Peters said.

Shortly before 4 p.m., paramedics responded to the main boat launch at the lake for a man who suffered a “non-water” injury, he said.

Lifeguards attended to the man before paramedics arrived.
