Accused identity-thief William Schaeffler got a holiday reprieve in his court proceedings, according to a court official.

Lawyers for the Los Angeles District Attorney's office and Schaeffler's attorney requested a continuance Dec. 19 at the pretrial conference, according to a San Fernando Superior Court official
The pretrial conference will resume Dec. 30.

Schaeffler is accused of stealing his former girlfriend's identity and using it to go on a July 2007 shopping spree.

The Santa Clarita victim asked for her name to be withheld to protect her from future identity theft.

The alleged victim was awarded $300,000 during a 2005 civil suit against Schaeffler, but was not paid, she said. Schaeffler balked at a plea deal Oct. 29 and decided to go to trial.

Schaeffler is being held in lieu of $110,000 bail.
