VAN NUYS, Calif. (AP) — A Southern California man accused of giving a 13-year-old boy a fatal injection of heroin has been charged with murder.
Brett Cronin was also charged Friday with felony counts of giving or administering heroin to a child and child abuse.
Los Angeles Deputy District Attorney William Ryder says the boy was at a sleepover when he went with his friend's older stepbrother into a bathroom and received the injection.
Cronin was arrested Wednesday, two days after the boy was found dead at the Woodland Hills home.
If convicted of all charges, the 23-year-old Cronin faces up to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
