LOS ANGELES (AP) — A small plane has crashed into a residential neighborhood in West Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles Fire department says the crash was reported shortly before 6 p.m. Friday.
Television footage from a news helicopter showed the charred wreckage beneath street trees and a broken wing on the sidewalk.
No other details were immediately released.
A spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration said he was gathering details about what happened.
The wreckage occurred a few miles northeast of the Santa Monica Airport.
