This letter is in response to the article that cited "enraged community members" because a menorah was not placed on the corner of Stevenson Ranch Parkway and Holmes in conjunction with the tree-lighting ceremony.
Just for the record, the nativity was not placed that day, either. It would not be appropriate for a homeowners association to endorse one or the other at a civic ceremony, so I think Mr. Waugh did the right thing.
Also, for any who were not able to attend the ceremony, I wish to offer great kudos to Mr. Waugh for providing a wonderful afternoon!
Hundreds of people were in attendance, with sled rides for children, snow for playing, a visit from Santa, and police and fire vehicles open for wide-eyed children to enjoy.
I was impressed and am grateful to the Stevenson Ranch Homeowners Association for providing it. Thank you!
Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah!
