COC receives grant for Hart district partnership

College of the Canyons received a $1.25 million Department of Education grant for a program to help low-income students at Golden Valley High School, college officials said Tuesday.

The five-year grant means 60 students enrolled in the COC Upward Bound program will be provided with weekly tutoring sessions held at Golden Valley and led by students from the college’s mathematics, engineering and science achievement program.
