Local sheriff’s deputies are looking into a Friday morning collision in North Valencia involving an off-duty law enforcement officer and a bicyclist, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

The collision occurred on Decoro Drive at McBean Parkway shortly after 10 a.m., said Sgt. Matthew D. Hill.

A deputy with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station was dispatched to follow up on the incident, he said.
The crash occurred on Meraweather Place, officials said.

A 15-year-old girl on a bicycle and a car backing out of a driveway collided. The girl suffered minor injuries. The driver of the car was reported to be an off-duty Los Angeles Police Department officer.

The investigating officer with the Sheriff’s Department could not be reached for more information.
