Valencia resident Kerry Carmody, chief operating officer of Providence Health & Services, Southern California, announced his retirement this week after nearly 40 years with the firm.
Carmody’s leadership helped Providence Holy Cross Medical Center develop from a small community hospital into a nationally ranked medical center in a region hard hit by hospital closures, officials with Providence Health & Services said.
Carmody retires as interim chief executive of Providence Holy Cross and regional chief operating officer of Providence Health & Services, Southern California.
During his career, he served on several professional and community organizations, including Private Essential Access Charity Hospitals, Santa Clarita Valley Economic Development Corp. and the College of the Canyons nursing program, among others.
He has been active in the Santa Clarita Valley with the Samuel Dixon Family Health Centers, the Foundation for Children’s Dental Health and the Downed Officer Foundation, which supports families of officers killed in the line of duty.
