A 68-year-old man ordered to stand trial for a fatal hit-and-run collision in Valencia that left a 65-year-old woman dead is scheduled to appear in San Fernando Superior Court next week.

In May, Jonathan Anker of Newhall was ordered to stand trial for one count of failing to remain at the scene of an accident and one count of driving under the influence of either alcohol or drugs.

Next Friday, he is scheduled to appear for a pre-trial hearing on the case.

Dianda Doane was hit by a car and killed Feb. 3 as she was walking in traffic lanes on Orchard Village Road in Valencia, according to deputies of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Doane had wandered the streets around the Santa Clarita Valley for several years, spotted occasionally by relatives who never fully understood why she behaved the way she did, one relative told The Signal in February.

For a while, Doane lived in Saugus in the area of Bouquet Canyon Road and Haskell Canyon Road.
