Jay Leno performs at the PAC on Tuesday, Aug. 7.

On Tuesday, Aug. 7, Pacific Funding Mortgage Division and Southern California Gas will present Comics For The Cause at the SCPAC to benefit the SCV Youth Project. Comedy all stars Tammy Pescatelli, John Heffron and Alonzo Bodden will perform alongside special guest Jay Leno at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center, with local comedian Mark Eddie serving as emcee.

For one night, these incredibly talented comedians descend on Santa Clarita to raise awareness, raise money and make people laugh, all to benefit the SCV Youth Project.

“It’s all coming together so incredibly well and I am honored that all of this talent is coming together just for us. All I did is ask. That’s pretty awesome,” said SCV Youth Project Executive Director Kim Goldman. “In tough economic times, we need all the help we can get in order to continue to provide free services to teens; this event is going to be amazing for so many reasons.”

There will be a special VIP pre-party at 6 p.m., doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $65 and $45, with $35 added on for the VIP pre-party. For more information and to purchase tickets visit www.canyonspac.com. The Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center is located at College of the Canyons, at 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road, Valencia, CA 91355.

The SCV Youth Project helps kids facing such serious issues as drug/alcohol abuse, anger, divorce, peer pressure, grief/loss, suicide, depression, etc. The Youth Project offers free, bilingual, one-to-one or group counseling, distributes FRY cards (which list emergency numbers) and leads a variety of specialized youth programs.
