Samba like a Brazilian tonight

Santa Clarita Valley residents who want to learn to samba, a dance from the culture of northeastern Brazil, can head to downtown Newhall tonight starting at 6 p.m. to join in the dance.

The dance company, “Vivier Brasil,” will be performing traditional samba dance tonight as part of Jazzed and Motivated sessions in downtown Newhall.

The interactive arts sessions are put on through a collaboration with the Ford Theatre Foundation, the city of Santa Clarita and College of the Canyons Performing Arts Center.

The sessions are free and held in conjunction with Newhall’s Thursday events that include the Farmer’s Market, Art Walk and Senses.
