A man whose body was found in the backyard of a Valencia home Monday has been identified as 55-year-old Douglas Bert Vlaming, officials said Tuesday.
A post-mortem examination of the body is scheduled to be done Wednesday, said Lt. Fred Corral of the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Department. The post-mortem should provide investigators with more information about how Vlaming died, he said.
Meanwhile, detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau are investigating.
Vlaming lived at the home on Frisca Drive with his wife, Elaine.
The couple just celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary three weeks ago on July 4 and have lived on Frisca since they were married.
Relatives found his body in the backyard near the family’s pool about 5:45 p.m. Monday.
Investigators said Monday they are treating the death as “suspicious.” One possibility is that he drowned.
Homicide detectives roped off the house with yellow police tape on Monday and spent much of the day at the home.
