LOS ANGELES (AP) — A man suspected of stabbing three homeless people and leaving notes labeled "death warrants" at the crime scenes has been charged with three counts of attempted murder.

The District Attorney's office said Monday that 37-year-old Courtney Anthony Robinson is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday.

Prosecutors will request Robinson be held on $3 million bail.

Robinson turned himself in Friday night after police appealed to the public for help in locating him. He is suspected of knifing three people in the back in separate incidents this month as they were sleeping.

Santa Barbara police Sgt. Riley Harwood says detectives there are investigating whether Robinson is linked to two recent stabbings of homeless men in that city. Harwood says there were no notes and the knives were different in those cases.
