“Silents Under the Stars” event, will be held 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug.11 at William S. Hart Park in Newhall. The featured silent film is a rare William S. Hart film called “The Whistle.” It is one of Hart’s hard-to-find non-Western movies. In addition, there will be a Bill Hart Western short. The SCV Men of Harmony Chorus meets 7:30-9:45 p.m. every Tuesday, Valley Oaks Village Apartments, 24700 Valley Street Santa Clarita. The group’s specialty is singing in four-part harmony without musical accompaniment, also known as a cappella singing. All singing men in any voice range are welcome. Santa Clarita Transit offers affordable weekend bus rides to Santa Monica Beach now through Sunday, Sept. 2.
