Sgt. Anderson walks the first suspect in custody at the Oaktree Apartment Complex Wednesday morning. Sheriff deputies apprehended two other male suspects around the Newhall area.

Deputies arrested three men on suspicion of exhibiting suspicious behavior and evading a traffic stop this morning near the Oaktree Apartments on Oak Ridge Drive in Newhall.

"We got a call of some suspicion person driving in a blue vehicle, looking in windows," said Sgt. Darren Harris, of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station.

A deputy tried to stop three males in car that matched the caller's description at a traffic stop at cross streets Shawna Place and Oak Ridge Drive. The car sped off down Shawna Place and crashed into a parked vehicle.

All three suspects fled on foot. At least one suspect was allegedly armed with a hand gun, Harris said.

The suspects ran toward the Oaktree Apartment Complex. A deputy who ran after the armed suspect fired at the suspect when he turned around and pointed a handgun at the deputy, Harris said.

At this time, deputies reported there were no gun shot injuries to suspects or deputies, but a gun was recovered at the scene, Harris said.

One deputy possibly suffered a broken nose but it was not a suspect-inflicted injury.

Deputies found one suspect somewhere in the Oaktree complex. The two other suspects were found after deputies secured the complex.

One suspect was hiding in the bushes at the 25400 block of Calcutta Pass Lane and the other was hiding on a patio on the 22600 block of Crown point, Harris said.

Secured areas included the Oak Tree Complex, Via Princessa bridge, and the areas surrounding Arbor Park.
